IRISH cyclist Sam Bennett's 2016 season is off to a good start after he won the first stage of the Critérium International in Corsica on Saturday.
The Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary man, who was born in Belgium, also produced one of the best Irish tweets of the year.
After his first stage win, Cycle Sport Magazine congratulated him on their Twitter account but also claimed him as British.
"Sky's two wins yesterday, @Sammmy_Be today. Easy to say British teams/riders are on fire," the magazine said.
Bennett, 25, replied to the tweet and put them in their place - but all in good humour.
Using a cúpla focail as Gaeilge, Bennett responded with this spectacular tweet...

And credit where credit is due, Cycle Sport Magazine also took the faux pas well.
The staff at the magazine followed up their original tweet with this one, by way of apology.
