This inspired Irish spoof of Love Actually will make your Christmas

LOVE ACTUALLY fans are being treated to an inspired Irish spoof reworking of the familiar festive film favourite.

The Richard Curtis anthology rom-com is a staple of TV schedules every Christmas, with its engaging blend of comedy and pathos proving a hit with viewers.

So, Cork comedy troupe CCCahoots evidently thought it was high time they put their uniquely Irish comedic spin on the noughties classic.

But rather than recreate Hugh Grant’s memorably naff dad dancing or the efforts of the legendary Liam Neeson, the group decided to re-enact Andrew Lincoln’s famous card-based doorstep declaration of love to Keira Knightley, albeit with a uniquely Irish twist.

Lincoln’s character Mark, you may recall, served as best man to Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Peter during his wedding to Knightley’s Juliet.

At first viewers are led to believe that Mark doesn’t especially like Juliet. However, it soon becomes apparently that he likes her. A lot.

Things culminate in a doorstep declaration that sees Mark arrive on Juliet’s doorstep, unbeknownst to Peter, to declare his love for her using note cards and a stereo.

The CCCahoots version offers up a slightly different take on proceedings and it’s one that’s distinctly Irish and all the better for it.

Tadhg Hickey, Laura O' Mahony, Dominic MacHale and Claire O' Connell star in this inspired bit of comedy.

Featuring proper Irish manners and an amusing and wholly topical Manchester United reference, it’s essentially viewing for fans of Christmas films and comedy alike.

There's even a Jose Mourinho mention thrown in for good measure.

An Irish TV and film production company specialising in comedy, CCCahoots' work prioritises warm natural performances; a cinematic, often colourful look; and most importantly, widespread ‘soundness’ on set!

CCCahoots are currently working on the second series of their sitcom The School.
