Star-studded Irish Post Awards 2016 will be LIVE on Facebook to a global audience of more than 750,000 people

THIS year's Irish Post Awards will be broadcast live on Facebook to a global audience of over 750,000 people.

As more than 1,000 people gather in London for the 2016 Awards ceremony celebrating the best of Irish talent in Britain, tens of thousands more will be tuning in on social media.

From 7.15pm this Friday, November 25 viewers around the world can turn in to The Irish Post Facebook page, as well as Irish Central Facebook in the US, to watch the star-studded evening unfold.  

With a stellar line up of well-known personalities and celebrities set to grace the red carpet, this year's glittering event promised to be the biggest on the Irish social calendar.

Among those attending are football legends Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane.

O’Neill, originally from Derry, is the current manager of the Republic of Ireland football team and will accept an award for his Outstanding Contribution to the Sports Industry.

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan will deliver the keynote speech on the evening, hosted by TV favourite Eamonn Holmes.

Susan Whelan, Chief Executive Officer of Leicester City Football Club, is also set to attend the prestigious ceremony in London where she will accept an award for her Outstanding Contribution to Business in Britain.

The Dublin-born woman will receive the award after a remarkable year that saw unfancied Leicester City pull off one of the greatest miracles in sporting history when they defied odds of 5,000-1 to win the Premier League.

Actor Shane Richie, best-known for playing lovable rogue Alfie Moon on BBC soap Eastenders, will also receive an Entertainment Legend Award.

A host of well-known faces will also be attending on the evening, including Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley, fashion designers Paul Costelloe and Louise Kennedy, Big Brother star Jayne Connery, The Apprentice winner Dr Leah Totton as well as Irish Man Abroad host and comedian Jarlath Regan.

Held at The Great Room at the Grosvenor House on Park Lane on Friday, November 25 The Irish Post is once again delighted to be honouring the achievements of a group of remarkable people in the Irish community spanning the fields of entertainment, music, sport, technology, construction, business and more.

“We look forward to seeing you all on the evening to celebrate the outstanding achievements and success of the many Irish in Britain.”

The 2016 Irish Post Community Award, Building Britain Construction Award and Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented on the night.
