Will Ireland get a White Christmas in 2018?

IRELAND WON’T be getting a White Christmas this year.

That’s according to the festive forecast being made by Met Eireann in the build-up to the big day on December 25th.

Met Éireann is predicting a combination of scattered showers and occasional dry spells over the rest of the week, with further dry conditions expected on Christmas Day.

There will be scattered showers across Ireland today (Thursday December 20th) will rainfall set to become more isolated over the southern part of Ireland as the day progresses.

More outbreaks are expected over the course of the night towards the southwest, with occasional heavy bursts of rain.

Temperatures could drop to between 3 and 7 degrees Celsius, with the overnight rain bringing damp and wet conditions from tomorrow.

Friday will be dull and cloud with some scattered rain and drizzle as the day progresses.

Much of the rain that day will be confined to the west and northwest, with temperature lows of 3 to 6 degrees Celsius.

Though conditions will continue to be mixed over the weekend before Christmas, the big day is set to bring dry, sunny spells.
