Dermot Byrne announces London Irish Centre show

STAR ACCORDIONIST Dermot Byrne is set to perform in concert at the London Irish Centre next month.

The Donegal musician, who is TG4 Gradam Ceoil Musician of the Year 2013, will team up with multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Floriane Blancke for the Camden show on Sunday December 8.

The pair play The Presidential Suite at the London Irish Centre.

Doors for the show are at 8pm and tickets are priced at £12 (£6 for under 18s).

Byrne is perhaps best known as the accordionist with the renowned Irish folk group Altan, with whom he has played since 1987.

He previously made guest appearances on two of their earlier recordings, The Red Crow and Island Angel, before joining the band permanently in 1994.

Floriane Blancke, who hails from France, is a harpist, fiddler, pianist and singer and has been embraced into Irish Traditional Music circles in recent years. The musician is the grand-daughter of Jazz musician Stanislas Suranyi.
