Ipswich duo to miss Ireland's Euro qualifiers as Bournemouth youngster set for debut

IPSWICH duo Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick will miss out on Ireland’s upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers through injury.

Nine players were cut from Martin O’Neill’s original 37-man squad when the revised list to face Gibraltar and Georgia was revealed on Saturday.

Bournemouth’s Harry Arter was also not fit to make the team.

But, his club teammate Eunan O’Kane will be making his senior squad debut, along with in-form Aberdeen man Adam Rooney.

Kevin Doyle also joins Martin O’Neill’s 28-strong Ireland squad after a 10-month spell away from international football.

Following a successful period since joining MLS side Colorado Rapids, he returns to O’Neill’s side after last featuring in October 2014 in the home victory over Gibraltar.

Ireland face Gibraltar in Faro, Portugal on Friday, September 4, and Georgia in the Aviva Stadium on Monday, September 7 in their Group D Euro 2016 qualifiers.
