New American-inspired burger bar to open in Belfast

BRITISH-owned restaurant chain Ed's Easy Diner is opening its first outpost in Belfast this summer.

There are already 30 branches of the Ed's chain located across Britain - with the business recorded as one of the fastest-growing food chains in its sector.

Its Belfast offering will be located at Boucher Retail Park and will create 25 new jobs in the city.

Ed's Easy Diner Chief Executive Andrew Guy said: "We are so proud to be launching our first ever site in Northern Ireland."

"We will be working closely with employment charity Springboard, hiring around 25 new staff from the surrounding area."

He added: “The new development will hopefully attract a large number of people from all over Belfast this summer."

The restaurant, which is due to open in June,  will offer a range of American-inspired classics - including burgers, chilli dishes and hotdogs - with diner-style décor and a jukebox.

Popular US fast-food chain Five Guys is also expected to launch in Belfast in the near future, as the city is one of ten locations it plans to target for its expansion across Ireland.
