'I can't imagine life for him without her' Wife of country and Irish legend Big Tom to be laid to rest

ROSE McBRIDE, the wife of Big Tom, will be laid to rest in Ireland tomorrow.

The mother-of-four, from Formill, Oram, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, died peacefully at home yesterday, January 30.

Her body will repose at the family home today ahead of her Funeral Mass at 11am in St Patrick's Church, Oram tomorrow.

Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Singer Daniel O'Donnell was among those to pay tribute, describing Rose McBride as a 'lovely lady'.

"I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Rose McBride, the wife of my good friend Big Tom," he wrote on Facebook.

"She was a lovely lady and will be sadly missed. My deepest sympathies go out to Tom and all the family at this sad time.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May her gentle soul rest in peace."

Country singer Cliona Hagan also expressed her condolences to the McBride family.

"She was there with him on every step, especially in recent years, everything he did. Rose was with him.

"I can't imagine life for him without her," singer Daniel O'Donnell also told Northern Sound.

Rose McBride is survived by her husband Tom McBride, children Thomas, Dermot, Aisling and Siobhan, as well as a sister, brothers, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family have requested donations in lieu of flowers if desired to Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care c/o Peter McCaughey Funeral Directors.
