'Poor child didn't even get a bounce' - Irish dad brilliantly parodies the new John Lewis Christmas ad in the most Irish way possible

THE John Lewis Christmas advert has become a staple of the festive season - however this Irish dad's hilarious parody may have outdone the ad itself.

Waterford father-of-two, Rob Grimes, took the Christmas ad and added the most 'Irish dad' response to it.

This year's much awaited ad features a very excited little girl awaiting her Christmas gift of a trampoline.

Her father spends much of Christmas Eve evening putting together the sizeable trampoline in the painful cold, only for the foxes, squirrels and a badger to take full advantage of it.

Here, Rob Grimes responds to seeing the wildlife on the child's trampoline as only an Irish parent could.

The video has racked up over 15,000 views in just over 24 hours, and Rob says he's surprised at the reaction.

"I'm surprised how far it's gone," he told The Irish Post. "I did one last year and it got a good chuckle amongst my friends so I said I'll make a tradition out of it."

"I've two young kids, aged three and 10 months, and actually have a trampoline out the back," he said.

"I didn't have the animals to go with it though," he joked.
