Man arrested following €1.1 million drug seizure in Ireland

IT was a busy day for Gardai in Dublin.

Gardai and Revenue officers carried out a joint operation in Dublin today, in which a man was arrested and €1.1 million worth of drugs were seized.

Officers searched business premises in Ballycoolin Industrial Estate, Blanchardstown in Dublin 15 and discovered 150kg of cannabis resin and 3kgs of cocaine.

Elsewhere, customs officers seized a pallet of goods at Dublin Port which contained suspected controlled drugs.

An Irish man in his 40’s was detained by Gardai under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice Act 1996 and is being held at Ballyfermot Garda Station.

Today's major drugs seizure comes just a week after another significant seizure in an Irish seaside town.
