Wrong targets hit in 'linked' Dublin double shooting

GARDAI are investigating two shootings which took place in Dublin last night within 50 minutes of each other.

The first shots were fired at Shangan Green in the Ballymun area of the city just after 4pm yesterday evening.

A 32-year-old man was blasted in the leg with a shotgun. His injuries are not life-threatening.

The second shooting occurred at around 5pm in the nearby area of Belclare view.

Nobody was injured but witnesses saw two men leaving the scene on a motorbike.

It has emerged today that both shootings were botched, and that those attacked were not the intended targets.

Furthermore, Gardai believe both shootings were linked to each other.

No arrests have been made in either case, and gardai in Ballymun are appealing for information about both shootings.

There is no evidence that either shooting is gang-related.

Anyone who saw either of the incidents is being asked to contact Gardaí.
