Man in his 60s dies following two-vehicle collision in Ireland

A MAN has died following a two-vehicle collision in Co. Waterford.

It is the second fatality on Irish roads this weekend, after a 48-year-old woman died in a two-car collision in Laois on Friday evening.

The latest incident occurred this morning at around 10am at Rathgormack.

The man, believed to be in his 60s, was driving a van when it collided with a 4x4.

He was taken to Waterford University Hospital where he was pronunced dead on arrival.

The two occupants of the 4x4 have also been taken to hospital for assessment.

The road has been closed for a forensic examination.

Local diversions are in place.
