You too? Bono’s son’s band involved in name dispute with English group

A BAND featuring the son of U2 star Bono has become involved in a dispute over its name.

Eli Hewson, Bono's third child, is in a Dublin-based band called Inhaler, which was formed in 2016, according to their website.

However a group from Hertfordshire say they were formed in 2014 and have performed under the name since 2015.

According to the Hertfordshire Mercury, the situation came to a head when an Irish media outlet used an image of the English outfit’s frontman for a piece on Hewson’s band.

The Hertford-based Inhaler say the name clash is affecting their following as searches now bring up hits for Bono's son's group.

After raising the issue on Instagram, the English band said the Irish outfit messaged them.

Luco Centro, of Hertford’s Inhaler, told the Mercury: “They messaged saying they had researched the band name before but we don’t actually know if that's true.”

The Irish Post has contacted the Dublin-based Inhaler for a comment.
