A TRIO of British football legends were on hand this week to give their expert advice to Irish youngsters who are just starting out on their own soccer paths.
Former Manchester United players Denis Irwin and Wes Brown and Leeds United’s Michael Bridges took part in a special coaching clinic for young players from St Joseph's AFC in Dublin.

It took place ahead of the Manchester United clash with Leeds at Croke Park last night.
“Legends from Manchester United and Leeds United and Under-14s from St Josephs AFC - is there a better pre-match day combo?” Ms Owen’s office said in a statement following the event.
“Before their historic clash at Croke Park, Ambassador Owen joined the next generation of players as they trained with Denis Irwin, Wes Brown and Michael Bridges,” they explained.

“Long before kick-off at Croke Park, the game was already doing what it does best: creating shared memories that last far beyond the final whistle.”
Manchester United ultimately beat Leeds 5-4 on penalties last night, after a 1-1 draw in their pre-season friendly.
