Ulster's Mourne Mountains make the shortlist for Britain's best view

THE BRITISH public is being asked to vote for the nation’s best view, with The Mourne Mountains in Co. Down among the shortlisted sights.

Famous for its beautiful countryside, from the Scottish Highlands and the Welsh mountains to the south coast and the quiet beaches of Northumberland and East Anglia, The Countryman magazine is attempting to crown Britain’s best view.

Voters have the chance to pick from a host of stunning views, including the Isle of Skye, Snowdonia, the Mourne Mountains, the Malvern Hills and Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, but people are free to contribute ideas.

Editor of The Countryman, Mark Whitley, said that for nearly 90 years the magazine has focused on the beautiful British countryside, “and now we cannot wait to find out what people think is Britain’s Best View.”
