Leinster name side for South African URC test

Leinster have named their side for their United Rugby Championship clash against the DHL Stormers. There are several changes from the previous game against the Emirates Lions.

In the starting XV, the back three consist of Henry McErlean, Liam Turner, and Rob Russell, with Charlie Ngatai and Ben Brownlee in the centre positions. Cormac Foley and Sam Prendergast are the chosen halfbacks.

The front row features Michael Milne, John McKee, and Michael Ala’alatoa, with Brian Deeny and Jason Jenkins in the second row. Deeny, who missed out last week due to injury, has recovered well and is selected to start. In the back row, Rhys Ruddock, captain Scott Penny, and Max Deegan complete the pack

20-year-old Gus McCarthy is poised to make his debut from the bench. The 20-year-old captained the Ireland U-20s that won the Grand Slam in 2023 and reached the World Championship final in South Africa.

Leinster's game against the DHL Stormers will take place in DHL Stadium (KO: 6.05 Irish time, live on TG4 and Premier Sport).
