Ireland's 23-man squad for the France game has been released Callum O'Dowda misses out, Seamus Coleman has been passed fit

IRELAND'S 23-man squad for tonight's opening Euro 2024 qualifier against France tonight has been released.

The good news for Ireland is that captain Seamus Coleman makes the shortlist after overcoming a thigh injury.

Coleman sat out Ireland's 3-2 win over Latvia last week and was touch and go for the France game but makes the squad. He is in line to start in the tonight.

Adam Idah is also fit for the game and is expected to make some sort of contribution tonight.

The bad news for Ireland is that Cardiff City star Callum O'Dowda has been ruled out of the game tonight.

O'Dowda was excellent in a left wing-back role in last week's friendly win over Latvia but will miss the game due to a groin injury.

He has not been included on the 23-man squad sheet given to UEFA.

Robbie Brady, who was called up to replace O'Dowda this week has also not made the cut.

Troy Parrott and Will Keane are also notable omissions by Kenny.

The game against France tonight starts at 7.45pm.

You can watch it live on RTE TWO.
