Diaspora Minister Jimmy Deenihan makes brief trip to Glasgow

DIASPORA Minister Jimmy Deenihan was in Scotland today meeting members of the Irish community and the Tourism Ireland team based in Glasgow.

The Minister was in town to get a feel for the team’s schedule for promoting Ireland in Scotland in 2015, which includes promoting the Wild Atlantic Way and the Causeway Coastal route.

“We are delighted that Minister Deenihan took the time to visit us in Glasgow today,” Elaine Murray, Tourism Ireland’s manager in Scotland said.

“Promoting the Wild Atlantic Way and the Causeway Coastal Route continues to be a major focus for us in Scotland, and elsewhere around the world in 2015, but we are also showcasing the new Dublin Discovery Trail.”

She added: “This year also marks 150 years since the birth of world-renowned Irish poet and Nobel laureate, WB Yeats so Tourism Ireland is promoting Yeats 2015 – particularly to our ‘culturally curious’ audience.”
