Fada Fail: Mobile network Three asks woman to change her Irish name to English

MOBILE PHONE COMPANY THREE customer Caoimhe Ní Chathail, encountered a problem on Monday, May 30 when attempting to enter her last name into an online form on the mobile company's website.

After failing to get the website to accept her Irish name, Caoimhe Ní Chathailthe Irish language speaker took to Twitter to vent her frustration.

This is how that conversation went...

A customer service rep from Three responded with the helpful suggestion that she translate her name to English

Understandably this was not quite the solution she was looking for

Three backed down, apologising for any offence and suggesting a solution would be on the cards soon, but the argument had already sparked plenty of debate and the hashtag #NíMéCaoimheCahill
