Irish woman finds worm in McDonald's chip

MCDONALD'S in Ireland is investigating - after a woman claimed to have found a worm in her chip.

Westmeath woman Anna Potterton popped into McDonald's on Grafton Street in Dublin City Centre on October 7 for a Happy Meal.

She soon discovered one of her chips had what looked like a burnt spot.

"When I looked closer I realised it was some sort of worm or maggot," she said on Facebook.

"I went and asked for a refund, which was given without any questions.

"This seems to be a complaint that staff get a lot as the cashier then said 'Sorry about that, it happens very very often'."

Ms Potterton was less than impressed with the response from the member of staff, adding: "Everyone knows McDonalds food is crap, but serving food with worms in it "very very often" is just disgusting."

McDonald's Ireland has said it is "looking into" the photo of the chip in question and is investigating further.
