Irishman with medical issues feared missing in London

POLICE searching for an Irishman who went missing from a Surrey hospital five days ago believe he may be in London.

Surrey Police are continuing to appeal for help from the public to trace James Phelan, who was last seen on August 8.

Mr Phelan has connections to London and officers believe he may have travelled to the city over the weekend.

The last sighting of the 42-year-old, who has medical issues, was at 7pm at the Accident and Emergency unit in St. Peters Hospital in Chertsey.

As police yesterday released CCTV footage of Mr Phelan leaving St. Peters Hospital they said they were “extremely concerned” for the missing man’s welfare.

Mr Phelan is described as being 6’1’’ and of a slim build with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white polo shirt, blue shorts and white trainers.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number P14230573.
