Three dead in US restaurant shooting, suspect still on loose

THREE people have died and four are injured after a gunman opened fire at a restaurant near Nashville, Tennessee.

The incident happened at the Waffle House restaurant at 3.25am local time (9.25am BST).

The gunman, who was dressed only in a green jacket, fled the scene naked.

A customer managed to wrestle the gun, believed to be an AR-15 style assault rifle, from the suspect.

Metro Nashville Police have named 29-year-old Travis Reinking as a person of interest in the case.

The gunman arrived at the scene in a vehicle registered to Mr Reinking, reportedly of Morton, Illinois, some 440 miles from Nashville.

The police added that a man believed to be Mr Reinking was last seen in woods near the restaurant dressed only in black trousers.
