Woman dressed as celery ejected from polling station in Ireland

A WOMAN reportedly dressed as celery has been ejected from a polling station in Ireland.

In a story you probably haven’t herbivore, a woman said to be in her 40s was escorted from a Kilgarvan polling station in the early hours of Saturday, February 8.

Reports have so far failed to indicate whether she was dressed as a single stick of celery or a bunch of the no-calorie vegetables.

According to Breaking News the woman attempted to accompany the TD Danny Healy Rae to vote in his home village.

She had been seen earlier that day waiting outside of the Kilgarvan primary school in the village, ahead of the polling station opening its doors at 7am.

The woman was accompanied by a man.

It has since emerged that their beef with those standing in the election is precisely that: beef.

The pair are thought to be vegan protestors involved in anti-meat eating campaigns across Ireland - they just want us to give peas a chance.

In any case, the gardai were well aware of the potential for protests and acted accordingly when presented with the unusual sight of a woman dressed as celery.

Thankfully their target, Johnny Healy Rae, saw the funny side.

“I have no meas on celery- there’s no meat in it,” he joked to reporters after.

He’s going to regret saying that tomato.
