Betting Tips: Champagne Express to prevail at Newbury on Friday

WEDNESDAY

KEMPTON

6.15        JOIN THE RACING UK CLUB MEDIAN AUCTION MAIDEN STAKES – 7 FURLONGS

Munfarrid can go close to giving Richard Hannon another victory in this particular race.

The trainer has landed the two previous renewals with Jeremos and Endorsing.  It would be foolish to think that this first timer would not be able to repeat the feat. The yard are in rude health and have sent out four winners from their last nine runners. They are also more than capable of producing a winner at the first time of asking and Richard Hughes is set to take the ride.

8.45        32RED CASINO HANDICAP (LONDON MILE SERIES QUALIFIER) – 7 FURLONGS

Pretty Bubbles could well prove the answer in a competitive heat where several are in good form. Her last two runs at this track have resulted in victory. Freddie Tylicki has partnered her in her last three starts. She was just unable to match the quicker turn of foot that Semeral showed at Lingfield last time and she was only just denied having been considered the rank outsider of the field. This return to seven furlongs should see her in a much better light and despite this career high mark she is clearly on good terms with herself.

THURSDAY

CHELMSFORD CITY

6.10        BET TOTEPLACEPOT HANDICAP – 1 MILE

Rock Charm ought to appreciate a return to the track where he has recorded his only career success to date. He has been a thoroughly consistent sort for his trainer and has only missed out on a placing one time in his last seven runs. His run at Southwell last time was a decent effort as it was his first attempt on the fibresand. He was only beaten a little over two lengths by the vastly more experienced Megamunch and track specialist Run Fat Lass Run. Andrea Atzeni retains the ride on the gelding and the combination should be capable of producing yet another solid effort.

FRIDAY

NEWBURY

2.10        EMMA LAVELLE RACING NOVICES’ HURDLE – 2 M 5 F

Champagne Express made the most of costly mistake incurred by Wicker Man when making a winning debut at Chepstow last month. He kept on well in the closing stages to see off a persistent challenge from the vastly more experienced King’s Odyssey. The front two pulled some 14 lengths clear of the remainder of their field suggesting that the form was quite strong. Barry Geraghty is set to ride this five year old son of Kalanisi and at one of their local tracks they have to rate high on any shortlist.
