THERE'S nothing quite like an Irish wedding - particularly when it's for a great cause.

The Parish Bar in Wembley Park, north-west London, was the venue where Eddie Donoghue tied the knot with the beautiful Claudia Murray in a charity wedding in aid of two Irish charities.

Aside from a few hiccups - including several skeletons coming out of the groom's closet - the ceremony went off without a hitch.

Claudia and her bridesmaids strutted up the aisle to Madonna's Like A Virgin, while a patient Eddie waited on his blushing bride beside his best man and groomsmen.

There was no shortage of clergy on offer - with Fr Brian McMahon and Fr Patsy Noonan and Bishop Darragh Hunt conducting the ceremony.

After the service, the wedding party and guests retired to the reception where a dinner, speeches and music was enjoyed.

The tongue-in-cheek day was a huge success with everyone enjoying themselves and, more importantly, the guests all donated to the two charities.

The final tally is still being counted but the money will go towards BIAS (Brent Irish Advisory Service) and St Luke's Hospice in Kenton.
