Irish soprano Lucy O'Byrne sings her way into The Voice UK finals

She survived the blind auditions, the battle rounds and the knockout stages and now classically trained Irish singer Lucy O’Byrne has made the final four of reality show The Voice UK.

Last weekend O’Byrne sang O Mio Babbino Caro from Puccini’s Gianni Shicchi to secure her place in the live finals.

This Saturday, O’Byrne, who is being mentored by will.i.am, will compete against 23 year old Emmanuel Mwamadi, 25 year old Sasha Simone and 29 year old Steve McCorie to be crowned The Voice UK winner.

McCorie is currently the bookies favourite, with Paddy Power giving O’Byrne odds of 6/1 on winning the popular reality show.

The 23-year old comes from Dublin but is now London-based.

The classically trained soprano had been working as an usher at London’s Apollo theatre on the show Wicked before applying for a place on The Voice UK.

The final will air on BBC One at 7pm. Last week’s show attracted 6.3million viewers.
