'There is no need to continue' - The Cranberries to split after final album

IRISH BAND The Cranberries have announced that they will be splitting up after their album release.

Guitarist Noel Hogan revealed that the late Limerick singer recorded vocals last year for what would have been the band’s first album in six years last year.

Following O’ Riordan’s passing in London in January, Hogan and the remaining band members postponed their work on the album.

The upcoming album, In The End, will be released in 2019.

Noel Hogan, guitarist in the band said: "Dolores had an awful lot going on and she was on a roll of being able to write.

Of the upcoming release, Hogan said: "Lyrically, the new album is very strong. She always said she found it hard to write songs when she was happy. She always said: put a bit of misery in her life and it was easier."

"We will do this album and then that will be it. There is no need to continue," he added.
