Just six hospitals in Ireland treating more than three coronavirus patients with a further 12 Covid-19 free

THERE ARE as few as six hospitals in Ireland treating more than three confirmed coronavirus patients, according to new figures published by the Irish Mirror

According to the report, a further 12 hospitals across the country are also entirely free of Covid-19, with no confirmed cases of coronavirus on any of the sites. 

The hospitals without any confirmed cases are listed as: St. James's, Portlaoise, Wexford, Letterkenny, Mayo, Portiuncula, Sligo, Kerry, STGH, Temple St, Crumlin and Tallaght (CHI). 

As of Sunday evening, the HSE had recorded 79 confirmed cases of coronavirus in hospitals. 

The most came at the Mater Hospital in Dublin, where 21 patients are being treated for the virus. 

Tallaght (Adults) recorded 11 cases, just ahead of Beaumont (10), Galway (7), Limerick (5) and Cork (4). 

A further 141 patients suspected of having coronavirus are being treated in Irish hospital settings. 

The number of serious cases is significantly lower, with 27 confirmed patients reported in Intensive Care Units across the country with a further eight in a critical care facility. 

One further death linked to the virus was recorded in Ireland on Sunday, bringing the death toll to 1,703. 

The figures come on the same day Northern Ireland recorded no new deaths from the virus for the fifth day in a week.
