2.15 BETFRED “HOME OF GOALS GALORE” HANDICAP – 7 FURLONGS
Outback Traveller tends to run well fresh and despite racing off a career high mark he has the assistance of Ryan Moore in the saddle.
He is proven on a polytrack surface having won twice at Lingfield in the past and he should be capable of playing a leading role here. He was last seen winning a decent handicap at Ascot last autumn by seven lengths when seeing off useful types such as Sir Robert Cheval and Comino.
Whilst this is a rise in grade he looks bound to have strengthened up over the winter and he fully deserves a place in this line-up.
3.10 888SPORT.COM HANDICAP CHASE – 3 MILES
Carrigdhoun comes into this race in search of a four timer and he has to have solid claims. He won his last race by more than three lengths at this track when seeing off Galway Jack.
The front two pulled some 19 lengths clear of the remainder indicating that the form would turn out to be quite useful. The move to Maurice Barnes’ yard from Edward Stanners has clearly revitalised this 10 year old who once again looks set to have conditions in his favour.
Michael McAlister has partnered him to win twice in the past and with them set to receive weight from the majority of their rivals, they have to command upmost respect.
3.25 BETFRED “RACING’S BIGGEST SUPPORTER” HANDICAP – 1 MILE
Made With Love ended last season on a winning note securing a victory over this course and distance.
That came on the back of two excellent efforts at Newmarket, where he was beaten less than a length on both occasions. John Gosden is currently operating on a 40% strike rate with his runners and he and Frankie Dettori teamed up successfully with Jazzi Top here earlier in the week.
There is undoubtedly further improvement to come from this son of Exceed And Excel and he can onto better things later in the year.
