THE FIRST biography of Maeve Binchy is due to be published on August 2 almost one year to the day on which she died.
Biographer, Piers Dudgeon, sought to fulfil Binchy’s wishes that the book - entitled Maeve Binchy: The Biography - would not be published during her lifetime.
Following her death on July 30 2012 Dudgeon began writing up years of interviews with the renowned Irish author and those closest to her.
Her legacy still remains through her bestselling books including Light a Penny Candle, Circle of Friends, Tara Road, Evening Class and A Week in Winter.
Dudgeon has previously written biographies on Catherine Cookson, the composer Sir John Tavener and novelists including Barbara Taylor Bradford and Josephine Cox.
Maeve Binchy: The Biography will be published by The Robson Press.
