Peter Doolan is a singer songwriter and poet from Co. Tipperary, and now based in London. He has released one EP, Modern Bombs Don’t Tick, (2018) and the album The Rise & Fall of Western Civilisation, Modern Politics & Tipperary Hurling Pts 1 & 2, (2022).

His work has been described as lyrically driven, punk-infused and ‘unashamed to prod the nerve of the listener’. He performs regularly with his backing band The St. Valentine’s Day Massacres

Kurt Cobain.

What are your Irish roots?

I come from Co. Tipperary.

What’s your favourite film?

Pulp Fiction.

Which person from the past do you most admire?

Italian philosopher Giambattista Vico.

What books are on your bedside table at the minute?

Finnegans Wake by James Joyce, On The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin and Nightwood by Djuna Barnes.

In terms of inanimate objects, what is your most precious possession?

My guitar

Each negative produces a like positive.

Busy recording the second album.

How did you get started in music?

I got a guitar for my 15th birthday.
