Girl, 14, suffers ‘serious injuries’ following firework incident in Cork

A TEENAGE girl has suffered serious injuries following an incident involving a firework in Cork City this afternoon.

The 14-year-old is believed to have sustained injuries to her face and a hand, with RTÉ News reporting that she has lost a number of fingers.

She is currently being treated at Cork University Hospital.

The incident happened at around 2pm in a laneway near Barrack Street.

Gardaí from Bridewell Garda Station are investigating the incident.
