The Irish presenter has said he doesn't comprehend how celebrities swerve on paying taxes.
The Graham Norton Show host said that he didn't identify with famous friends who didn't pay their taxes.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Norton said he didn't understand "the not paying tax thing".
He said he thought it was ridiculous: "It's just stupid and very short-sighted."
Norton said when looking at celebrities who avail of tax avoidance schemes, "You think, 'How can you be bothered?'"
He said these certain people "would be just as rich if they paid the tax - and would be living in a much nicer country".
"One where people were looked after, where crime was less, where housing was better and people were better educated," he added.
