IRISH Army to carry out major terror simulation exercise in Dublin today

Ireland’s Defence Forces have issued a Public Information Notice that a major terror incident simulation will take place in Dublin today.

The statement told the public that; “The exercise will involve over 500 Defence Forces personnel, including the elite Army Ranger Wing, exercising with our colleagues in An Garda Siochana.”

Bomb disposal teams, military vehicles, helicopters and armed personnel will all be involved in today’s training exercise.

Due to the nature of the exercise, further details such as location or timing of the exercise have not been made available to the public.

The note concludes” “We hope to keep any disruption to a minimum; however, this exercise is necessary to ensure that the Defence Forces are fully prepared when called upon.”
