Man arrested following discovery of €7,700 worth of heroin in Cork

Gardai in Cork have arrested a man in his late 30's following a large seizure of heroin last night.

According to the Irish Examiner, The drugs are believed to be worth up to €7,700.

The seizure was made last night when gardai observed a vehicle which was involved in a collision with a parked car on Model Farm Road in the Bishopstown area of the city around 11 pm last night.

The driver of the car discarded two plastic bags and attempted to flee the scene on foot.

He was arrested a short distance away.

He was detained for a period of time before being released without charge.
