In pictures: Ireland finally basks in the sun after enduring seemingly endless rain

AFTER weeks and months of wind and rain, Ireland finally got a taste of the sun yesterday.

It’s been a miserable 2018 so far, culminating with Storm Emma colliding with the Beast from the East in March.

And only this week we were drenched by Storm Irene.

However after scores of dire weather warnings, the Emerald Isle finally got to bask in some sunshine on Saturday as temperatures hit 20°C.

Here’s a selection of the best pictures as the sun finally shone on Ireland.
