Rugby club investigates ‘inappropriate’ picture referencing Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding

A BELFAST rugby club is investigating the emergence of an ‘inappropriate’ photograph involving their players that refers to Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding.

The picture shows two men, believed to be Malone RFC players, with a trophy held between them just below waist level.

One of the men has a label on his chest saying ‘Paddy Jackson’, while the other has a label saying ‘Stuart Olding’.

It is believed the picture was taken after Malone RFC's McCrea Cup victory over Cooke RFC on Easter Monday.

In a statement, the club apologised for any offence caused as it revealed it is to launch an investigation.

“It has been brought to our attention that an inappropriate photograph involving Malone players has been posted on a private social media site,” the club said in a statement.

“Malone was unaware of the photograph and will investigate how it occurred.

“The Club apologises for any offence caused by the contents of the photograph.

“A full investigation will now take place by Malone RFC.”

Ulster and Ireland players Jackson and Olding were last month found not guilty of rape following a nine-week trial.
