These new Baileys Choco Leibniz biscuits might just be the perfect teatime treat

BAILEYS IS as much a part of Irish life as Guinness and Barry’s Tea.

So, news of the latest collaboration involving the iconic Irish cream liqueur will be much welcome in the Emerald Isle – especially for tea drinkers.

Baileys has combined with any number of sweet foodstuffs down the years, whether its easter eggs, cupcakes or yuletide logs.

However, their latest team-up might be the best yet.

That’s because the alcoholic beverage has been combined with an array of chocolate biscuit treats from German company Bahlsen.

Best known for the addictive Choco Leibniz biscuits, the two companies have collaborated on three new biscuit treats.

The first, Strawberries and Cream Squares, have already been launched and have proven popular with the sweet-toothed among us.

However, the best could be yet to come, with Bahlsen unveiled two more Baileys-infused biscuits.

First there are Baileys Squares biscuits, a lush layer of original Baileys sandwiched between some light wafer biscuits.

However, the crowning glory comes with the Baileys Choco Leibniz biscuits.

Offering the familiar butter biscuit semi-coated in continental milk chocolate, this version comes with an additional Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur twist.

With Winter fast approaching and the nights getting darker and considerably colder, these Baileys-led treats could not be arriving at a more opportune time.

Ideally enjoyed in the company of a great cup of tea or hot chocolate, these might be the perfect comfort food for the months ahead.

Anyone wanting to get their hands on them will need to head to Tesco, with the Baileys Choco Leibniz biscuits available now and the Baileys Squares biscuits due to arrive from September 29.
