GARDAÍ are investigating after a young man was hospitalised with head injuries following a serious assault in Dublin.
The incident occurred at Ballyowen Lane in Lucan last night.
A 20-year-old male is being treated in Beaumont Hospital for serious head injuries following the assault.
An Incident Room has been established at Lucan Garda Station.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 01-6667300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
In particular they have appealed to anyone who was in the vicinity of Ballyowen Lane or Ballyowen Shopping Centre between 11pm and midnight on December 28 to get in touch.
They have also asked anyone with a dash-cam and who may have been in that area between those times to contact them.
