AN IRISH TV production company will trek glen to glen and down Britain’s mountain sides to tell the story of one of Ireland’s most well-known songs.
Tyrone Productions is calling on the Irish here to take part in a one-off documentary to be screened on BBC and RTÉ.
The hour-long film will look at one of the most famous songs in the world - Danny Boy, which is 100 years old this year.
Director James Maycock wants the Irish abroad and second-generation Irish people to take part by sharing their own ‘Danny Boy moments’.
The film will investigate the musical and cultural phenomenon that Danny Boy has become since its birth in 1913.
It will also reveal why it has had such an impact on music, sport, religion and politics across Ireland, Britain and the US.
“We will be filming in the UK over the summer and it would be a wonderful experience to partake in,” said Sarah McConville from Tyrone Productions.
“We will ensure the filming is an enjoyable experience and the stories told would be a great asset to this film. Do you have a funny, quirky or poignant story about this iconic song?
