Ed Sheeran to be usher at Courteney Cox's wedding to Johnny McDaid

COURTENEY Cox and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid have asked Ed Sheeran to be an usher at their wedding, it has been reported.

The singer-songwriter introduced the 50-year-old actress to Derry-native McDaid last year, after which they dated for seven months until McDaid proposed during a romantic holiday in Turks and Caicos.

There has been recent speculation that the wedding could take place in Ireland, with the location believed to be Ashford Castle, Cong, Co Mayo.

A close friend of the Cox said: ''Not only is Ed great mates with Johnny, he is a close friend of Courteney's.

''Ed said yes immediately when asked. Johnny's other best pal, singer Foy Vance, is also an usher. It's between him and Ed for best man - they'll probably share it.''

The former Friends star visited her fiancé Johnny McDaid’s hometown of Derry last month, where it is thought that she met his family.

They were also spotted visiting a jewellers before heading into a gift shop and posing for photos with locals.

Cox was previously married to David Arquette from 1999 to 2013.
