‘We got one!’ – Watch haunting first teaser for new Ghostbusters movie

AFTER the announcement that a new Ghostbusters movie is in the works, a new teaser trailer has further whetted the appetite of fans.

Jason Reitman, son of Ghostbusters director Ivan, revealed the news about the upcoming film on Twitter earlier today.

Now the minute-long teaser has got fans up to stream-crossing levels of excitement, as well as stars of the original.

The teaser doesn’t reveal any plot details but does feature nostalgic elements including proton pack sound and visual effects, the familiar creepy music and of course Ecto-1 visible under a tarp.

The atmosphere also seems darker than Ivan Reitman’s 1984 original and its 1989 sequel.

Fans certainly seemed to enjoy the clip, judging by the reaction on social media.

The movie will follow on from the events of Ghostbusters 2 but will be set in the present day, three decades on from the team’s defeat of Vigo the Carpathian.

Scheduled to be released in the summer of 2020, Jason Reitman’s film will also bypass the divisive 2016 reboot.

Original Ghostbusters stars Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd – who co-wrote the first two films with the late Harold Ramis – appear to have given the trailer the thumbs up.

Their tweets also sparked excitement among fans that the pair – along with Bill Murray and other original cast members – would play a part in the new film.
