Listen to My Bloody Valentine's first album in 20 years

IRISH band My Bloody Valentine released their first album in 22 years over the weekend and crashed their own website in the process.

On Saturday (February 2), the band posted a message on their Facebook page saying:  "We are preparing to go live with the new album/website this evening. We will make an announcement as soon as it’s up."

This was followed three hours later by the message: "The album is now live on www.mybloodyvalentine.org."

The album – entitled m b v – is their first LP since their classic 1991 album Loveless and can be heard below.

The 12-track album is available to buy as a digital download and will be released on vinyl and CD later this year.

The tracklisting is: she found now, only tomorrow, who sees you, is this and yes, if i am, new you, in another way, nothing is, wonder 2.

My Bloody Valentine were formed in Dublin in 1983 by Kevin Shields (guitar and vocals) and Colm Ó Cíosóig (drums) and Dave Conway.

Following a number of changes the band’s line-up has consisted since 1987 of Shields, Ó Cíosóig and singer-guitarist Bilinda Butcher and bassist Debbie Googe.

Regarding the physical release of m v b, the band said: "The vinyl has been recorded, mixed and mastered in analogue. It is manufactured on 180 gram vinyl and comes in a gatefold sleeve with the CD in a card wallet. The vinyl will be limited due to manufacturing restrictions. The CD comes in a gatefold card sleeve.

"The vinyl and CD artwork is currently being finished and each format will have slightly different but similar artwork to the download artwork that will be attached to your download."
