Mrs Brown's Boys to return to the big screen with sequel to D'Movie

FANS of Agnes Brown are in for a treat as a sequel to Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie is in the pipeline.

The BBC show's star Brendan O'Carroll is reportedly getting ready to shoot Mrs Brown's Boys D'Sequel in Dublin next Autumn.

"I wanted to do a second movie because I believe we can make a better film than the first one," he told The Irish Sun.

"But it's a hard act to follow because Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie is the biggest selling Irish film of all time."

The first film - Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie - cost £3.6million to produce and went on to make almost £20m in the box office.

The programme has also proven to be a huge hit with both British and Irish audiences, regularly topping the ratings.

Mr O'Carroll himself stars as the bonafide Dublin mammy, with his real-life children and wife playing various members of the Brown family.

He has reportedly decided on a budget for the film's sequel and contracts are set to be signed in the coming days.

The programme is also making a comeback to television this Christmas with a two-part special airing over the festive period.

The first episode will air on BBC1 on Christmas Day at 9.45pm - followed by part two on New Year's Day at 10.30pm.
