‘Sounds like someone wringing out a soggy sponge’ – Nadine Coyle angers viewers with bizarre ‘half-Irish half-American accent’

NADINE COYLE has left ITV viewers baffled by her ‘bizarre’ hybrid Irish/American accent on Lorraine.

The Co. Derry singer has been living in Los Angeles for a number of years since Girls Aloud split in 2013 – and it seems she’s picked up a bit of the Cali twang along the way.

Speaking to fellow Northern Irishwoman Christine Lampard, Coyle plugged her upcoming solo tour – but social media users were much more concerned with her voice.

One even complained on Twitter that they had to “turn on the subtitles”.

Another wrote: “Does Nadine ever use the same accent twice? Sounds like someone is wringing out a soggy sponge.

“Irish and American accent rolled into one. Some sort of voodoo language? #Lorraine.”

While a third added: “Im literally relying on subtitles for this Christine/Nadine interview! American accent? Irish accent?

“Make up your f***ing mind Nadine you sell out! Still as flipping annoying as when they first started hurting my ears."
