A man has died following a collision in Munster

THE SINGLE car collision has taken the life of a middle-aged man.

The man died when his car hit a fence at approximately 11.30pm on Friday night.

According to The Journal, the motorist was driving in the area of Ardmayle in Cashel in County Tipperary before his death.

It's believed the 51-year-old man died upon impact of the crash.

The remains of the deceased were moved to South Tipperary General Hospital.

The scene of the crash has been sealed off pending a forensic investigation into the collision.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed the crash to ring Cahir Garda Station on 052 744 630, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
