Bomb scare at headquarters of Ireland's national broadcaster RTÉ sees staff evacuated

STAFF were today evacuated from the headquarters of Ireland’s national broadcaster RTÉ due to a bomb scare.

Reports claim a caller made contact with a number of media outlets at around 4pm to say a bomb had been left in a car park at the broadcaster’s Montrose campus in Donnybrook.

Shortly afterwards, staff were told they had to leave the TV building at the site in the southside of the city.

Gardaí were called and carried out a search of the area but confirmed to the Independent.ie that nothing was found and they believed the threat to be a hoax.

Staff have since returned to the building and the incident is not believed to have affected programming.
