Irish man wanted by police after theft in Preston pensioner's home

POLICE in Preston are appealing to find a man ‘with an Irish accent’ after a pensioner was the victim of a theft inside his own home.

Nathan O’Neil, 30, is wanted in connection with the incident, which occurred at the property on Ribbleton Avenue on Tuesday, October 13.

The 79-year-old victim was paying a tradesman who had completed some building work at his home.

The tradesman is thought to have taken an unspecified amount of money while the victim was distracted.

O’Neil is described as white with blue eyes, short, with fair hair and speaks with an Irish accent.

He has links to Lancashire as well as the Formby area of Merseyside.

Insp Paul McLernon from Preston Police said: “We would like to speak to Nathan O’Neil as part of our on-going enquiries into this incident and I would urge anyone who has seen him or know where he is to get in touch with us. Similarly, I would urge Mr O’Neil, if he sees this appeal, to make contact with us as soon as possible.”
