IRISH news presenter Nick Sheridan has become a viral sensation after a bizarre story left him in hysterics on Scottish television.
Sheridan, a former newscaster on RTÉ2's news2day, was presenting on STV2 when a court story about a nude pensioner who went on a ‘rampage’ at a luxury hotel tickled his funny bone.
“A nude pensioner terrorised guests and staff at a luxury resort hotel by brandishing scissors during a drunken rampage,” Sheridan began.
The Wexford native did his very best to get through the bizarre local story before making a heroic attempt to suppress a chuckle.
STV2 also saw the funny side and posted the video on their Twitter page with the caption: "With local news stories like this, sometimes it's hard to keep a straight face.”
Sheridan tried to keep his composure throughout the piece but things understandably got the better of him for a moment.
Social media users have fallen in love with the Irishman and his herculean attempt to remain calm, and afterwards he thanked everyone who had left him messages for their “kind words.”
