AN IRISH woman has posted a video on Facebook detailing the domestic abuse she has suffered in the hope that it will help others stand up to abuse in the home.

In the footage, which went viral this morning and has been seen by more than 1million people already, Dubliner Emma Murphy reveals she thought long and hard before posting the message.

The mother of two, who has a black eye in the video, says: “I thought long and hard before posting this video, this is very difficult for me but I have to do what is right.”

She added: “If you or anyone you know is in a similar situation please share this video to inspire other women around the world, violence is not the answer,” she adds.

“I hope I have raised awareness in some women.”

More than 200 people have posted messages of support for Ms Murphy after viewing the message, commending her for her “bravery” in speaking out.

“Ur one strong lady! It takes some guts to do that, it's just proves what a good mother u are putting ur children first,” Karen Brazil says.

Tracy Fox adds: “Speaking out it will only make you stronger so you can continue to be an amazing mammy to your 2 beautiful children so stay strong Emma and well done.”
